Cryptocurrencies in Light of the Maqasid of Shariah

Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Finance (BIIF) has recently organized the lecture-2 on ‘The Purpose and Applications of Cryptocurrencies in light of the Maqasid al-Shari’ah’ under BIIF Lecture series on Islamic economics, banking and finance.

Dr. Zaid Al Barzinji, Founder and President, Maqasid Institute, USA delivered a lecture as a keynote speaker. Dr. M. Abdul Aziz, Founder Director of BIIF and visiting professor of Islamic University of Technology (IUT) presided over the seminar while Dr. Faisal Khan, , Research Fellow & Faculty of BIIF moderated the session.

Dr. Md. Mahmudul Alam, senior research fellow of the Economic and Financial Policy Institute, Universiti Utara Malaysia; Professor Dr. Mohammad Omar Farooq, Head of Economics Department, United International University; Dr. Golzare Nabi, Director of research department, Bangladesh Bank; Md. Mahmudul Hasan, principal of Daffodil International School (DIS); Dr. K M Zakir Hossain Shalim, Assistant Professor & Academic Coordinator of BIIF; also spoke at the seminar.
